Examine the Social and Economic Effects of a Project as part of its Environmental Assessment

Industrial projects

For example, if a company wishes to build a large industrial operation, which may affect the land, water, fish and wildlife in the surrounding watershed, then a socioeconomic assessment of the potential impacts to users of the land and waterways may be required.

In this situation, we would research the current environmental status of the area, existing uses (i.e. commercial uses such as fisheries and forestry; recreational uses such as off-road vehicle use, boating and angling; and educational and cultural uses). We would analyze the information to predict how these uses or values might change due to the project, and identify ways to mitigate or avoid these effects.
